Fan sounds of an overworked 2011 13" Macbook Pro. Some might find this sound to be relaxing or helpful for sleep, possibly for nostalgic reasons. For me, it brings me back to my college days where I could be found playing Team Fortress 2 for hours on end on the machine (Scout, Soldier, Spy main here--in that order).

I actually ran Vintage Story (vintagestory.at - a game I have written roughly 1.5 hours of music for!) with settings too high for the Mac to handle. Normally the game runs buttery smooth on the mac, but not if you max out all of the settings lol. One day I may upload some of that music to this channel.

I debated for a while whether or not I should emphasize or remove the characteristic ringing sound at ~1340 Hz. On one hand, emphasizing it brings out what makes this sound unique to other fan sounds. But removing it would probably make the sound smoother. In the end I decided to emphasize it a bit, because this channel isn't just about relaxing sounds--it's more of a curated archive of sounds, many of which are good for sleeping or studying or relaxing. But not all of them! I just like sounds and timbres, so I prefer to keep the unique characteristics of various sounds intact where it makes sense to. If you would like for me to upload a version of the fan without that ringing sound I would be happy to, just make a comment on my YouTube channel (search "Virtual Crickets")!
